- Capt. Bob's Conquer the Job Interview - Immediate Digital Download Available!
This program has helped over 4,200
candidates get their dream job. Capt Bob will prepare you for the most misunderstood and least prepared for portion of the testing process. There are candidates with great credentials
who can't present the package at the interview. If you can't present the package, you don't get the job. Never, ever.
Capt Bob will discuss skills and methods
that can truly catapult your interview skills. You may spot the one big "nugget" you are missing in your presentation. Think about it – you may be too close to see your own gold mine!
The "Nugget Principle"
enables applicants to personalize their presentations to separate them from the "clone" candidates. No one else can tell your story. Once you start lacing answers with your personal life experiences, no matter if they aren't fire department related, is where
you start creating the magic.
Here are just some of the powerful comments others have made:
- "I saw immediately the mistakes I was making."
- "One 'nugget' paid for the whole program."
- "It was the 'nuggets' that got me the job."
- "You gave me the 'nuggets.' I nailed my next interview and got the job."
- "It was the best money I have spent on gaining a career."
- "The program has helped build up my self-confidence and keep me motivated."
What's a "nugget?"
A "nugget" is an answer to an oral board question that will get you your best score (highest possible) on that question, satisfy the board, and cause them to go on to the next question.
You will get bonus points by personalizing your answer. The "Nugget Principle" enables applicants to personalize their presentations to separate them from the "clone" candidates.
No one else can tell your story. Once you start lacing answers with your personal life experiences, no matter if they aren't fire department related, is where you start creating the magic.
don't know how to establish yourself and the other essential skills needed to score high enough, you might as well not show up. You're dead meat! The goal is to convince the oral board that you can do the job
before you get it. Stories demonstrate your experience. They tell the board that you not only know the answer to an oral board question, you have already lived it.
Someone said, "Capt. Bob,
how can you help so many candidates without making them into clones?" Good question, simple answer. The real reason is that no one else can tell your story – nobody! When you start replacing your answers with
your personal life experiences that is when you start shortening the gap between getting that coveted badge.
Stories are more than facts.
Stanford University did a study that found getting a job or making a sale only has to do with 15% of your knowledge of the subject. The other 85% has to do with your enthusiasm. If you can
light yourself on fire with enthusiasm and bring the excitement, emotion, the magic of the actual event in a story, the oral board will stand up, applaud and watch your ass burn.
What are you actually
doing going to an oral board? If you answered: selling yourself, making a good impression and, yes, don't forget to ask for the job – those are all good. But, what you're really doing is
auditioning for the part to be a firefighter. Just like the part in a play. Do you know your lines? Do you know your part?
The following are comments from successful candidates who have used the "nugget" principle:
"Well, I never thought I would be writing this to you, Captain Bob, but it
happened to me also. Just like all those successful stories you have posted, I am another proof that your nuggets work. I just went yesterday to the Austin Oral Board Interview and I did amazing. Out of a possible 120
pts, I scored 119.87 pts! I couldn't believe it! I went in there and it was Show Time. I personalized my answers. Even one of the panel members went outside to tell me I did really well and shook my hand. And another
firefighter said that my score was the highest he had seen. Just wanted to say THANK YOU!" Armando
"I wanted to write this letter in regards to your interview nuggets. I recently had interviews with large
career county fire departments. Last week, I received a phone call from the Chief of a department offering me a position in the upcoming fire academy class. Your nuggets were a Godsend! Thank you so much! They made a
believer out of me and I recommend your program to anyone who has an upcoming interview."
"I just wanted to thank you for all your help with your program. I put in countless hours perfecting my nugget
answers and was still amazed at how easily they flowed when I was asked the questions by my interviewers. Thank you so much!"
"Capt. Bob – thank you a thousand times over! I finally got the call on July 21
st and start recruit school on September 7th! I know that I owe it all to your program. With it, I didn't give any clones answers and ended up number two on the hiring list. That is more proof
that your program really works. I know I was giving clone answers until I got your product. With it, I saw the mistakes, corrected them, and nailed my interview. Thank you again!" Michael C.
after three years of testing, I finally got an offer! The oral was the one thing holding me up. After purchasing your program, I took your advice and memorized my personal script and made it sound natural – so that I
was even impressed with it! I got two job offers the same month after not getting any in the three years of trying. I now work for the Sacramento Fire Department and love it! Thank you!" Eric W.

- Capt Bob Smith's It's Your Turn in the Hot Seat - Immediate Digital Download Available!
Here's how the "It's Your Turn in the Hot Seat" program was created. During two live seminars the candidates volunteered to sit in the "hot seat" not knowing in advance what the
next oral board question would be. Everyone quickly learned what they thought was prepared and unique fell short of getting top scores, especially those candidates who volunteered to give it their best shot. You
won't believe what these, I thought I was ready, candidates said! This also applied to many in the packed room who gave their .02 cents as the questions were opened up to the attendees.
You've spent time, money and put your life on hold to gain the necessary education and experience to become a firefighter.
Your oral board will determine the future. It's game day. You have around 20 minutes to stun the oral board into giving you the opportunity to ride big red. Are you ready to sit in the hot seat and see what you've got?
Keep in mind too that in a 20-minute interview you will have about 5-6 questions and answers. One candidate who arrived late at the seminar leaped at the opportunity for the next question. Once he was in
the hot seat he was asked the question, "What do you know about our department?"
The candidate proceeded to give this fast, rapid fire, long endless answer. It was like he was trying to cram
everything in he could think of down to fine details. Just when you though he was coming in for a landing, he touched down and took flight again. You could see the glaze coming over those in the room (as you would
see from an oral board panel) as he continued.
When he finally ended the first comment from the room was, wasn't that answer too long? The attendees saw first hand how these long endless salvo drop answers
can start to work against you to the point of overkill, making you sound anal. Oh, yea this is the guy we want to stick in a station and drive everyone else crazy.
One candidate said he had been told by
many other candidates and firefighters to keep answering until they stop you. Well, put your self in the position of a panel member and you have to stop this guy to get him to shut up. How would you rate them?
If you go endless in your answers, you might get cut off before you got to deliver some of the best stuff.
Capt. Bob – another success story for your program. I have been testing for the fire service for three years. I am the classic example of someone who had a lot of certificates, including
paramedic experience, but could not make it past the oral board. I ordered your oral interview program and prepared my answers to your 30 oral board questions. I scored high on my local department (which happened to be
at the top of my wish list) and just found out that I got hired. The academy starts April 14th. After years of unsuccessful oral boards, your program gave me the skills I needed to pass and fulfill my dream of
becoming a firefighter/paramedic. Thank you!" Jeff
Our final comments…
Why take one more oral interview
and be disappointed in the final outcome? You need to do a self-analysis on where you are in preparing for the oral interview and tell yourself, "I want to improve my oral interview score
and dramatically increase my chances of getting that coveted fire department badge!!"
Now it's up to you - you can fall into two categories. One is the 90% of fire applicants who never prepare
for an oral interview and are extremely disappointed in their results. Or, are you going to be in that 10% that starts preparing for the oral interview early and are confident, relaxed and ready to meet this very
important testing challenge?
That 10% represents most fire applicants that get the job - those that really want it!
Remember that luck goes to the prepared!
Don McNea Fire School is so confident that you will find that our entry-level products will help you score better
and allow you to place higher on firefighter examinations, that we offer a complete money-back guarantee.
